To produce new electronic devices, metals must be mined, processed and transported, which consumes a huge amount of energy and resources. And, after being purchased, the used devices are rarely recycled. They often end up as e-waste in developing countries, where they further exacerbate the environmental problems in these regions.
IT remarketing allows hardware to go through several life cycles, rather than being discarded after the first use. This decreases the need for newly manufactured goods, which helps to conserve resources and reduce emissions.

Why and when is selling my hardware worthwhile?
In principle, it is always worth checking whether selling your old hardware to Green IT Solution GmbH is a good option. Many of our customers even plan to sell their old hardware before purchasing new devices. This has the advantage of both making space for your new equipment and ensuring that it is pre-financed.
What information do you need for a sales enquiry?
To make you an offer as quickly as possible, we just need a list of the item numbers for the devices you wish to sell. You are welcome to download our Excel template, which you can fill out and send to us using the contact form. Of course, you’re also welcome to send us a short email listing the respective items. Once we have checked your enquiry, we will send you our offer.
How does selling my hardware help to protect the environment?
To protect our planet, we need to use fewer resources. The best way to do this is to extend the usage life of products that are already in use. By reselling your used IT hardware, you help keep it in the usage cycle. This allows you to do your part to protect the environment while increasing the ROI of your IT hardware at the same time.
How is my company data protected?
Together with our subsidiary Green IT Services GmbH, we have developed a process that ensures absolute protection of your data. This process is software-driven and cannot be overridden, so the risk of human error is eliminated. In addition, all steps are documented in detail and are available for you to review at any time.
Data erasure or storage medium destruction – which is better?
Storage media do not have to be destroyed to protect your data. Professional data erasure offers just as much security and is the more environmentally friendly alternative, as it allows the storage media to be reused. In some cases, however, destruction of the storage device is unavoidable – for example, if it is defective, complete data erasure cannot be guaranteed or if your specifications require destruction. In these cases, the storage media are destroyed by our subsidiary Green IT Services GmbH under strict conditions. You then receive video evidence of the process, and the destroyed storage media is handed over to a recycling company.
How can I be sure that I am getting the best price for my hardware?
Our audit process is completely transparent for you. We evaluate each device individually according to clear, fixed criteria. All flaws that downgrade the item from the best possible rating documented – and this documentation is, of course, available for you to view.
I have ISO 27001 certification. Will I receive the corresponding certificates for my audit?
We record the serial number of each storage device so that it can be tracked. Following data erasure or storage media destruction, you will receive a separate certificate for each storage device containing the serial number and the time of data destruction.
Can I donate my IT hardware?
If your devices are no longer suitable for resale but are still fully functional, we offer you the option of donating them to one of the charitable organisations we work with.
